The integrated care model is a unique form of retirement facility whereby various types of accommodation catering for different levels of support and care are provided on the one campus. The integrated care model enables a person from the age of 55 to reside in a retirement village where they will not need to move from the site, although they may chose to move to accommodation with an increased level of care and support elsewhere on the same campus.

A feature of the integrated care model is for retirees who live within the retirement village to reduce the 'trauma of separation', which is often experienced when family members are committed to care. For example, the integrated care model enables one partner to live in accommodation with a higher level of care, whilst the other remains in a lower level of care on the same campus. Alternatively, retirees can have their parents reside in accommodation with a high level of care, while they reside in the independent living units situated adjacent to the aged care facility or assisted care accommodation units. The following levels of accommodation are proposed at the Sweetwater Retirement Estate: Assisted Care Accommodation Units providing a level of nursing care within individual units to meet the specific needs of the residents. Services include assistance with meal preparation, laundry and cleaning, bathing and hygiene and supervision of prescribed medicines. Independent Living Units designed internally to allow people to live independently and age in place while providing appropriate levels of support if and when required. Local retirees can now enjoy independent living in modern 2-3 bedroom villa style homes that have been designed to make life easy for them, without the hurdles of steps and stairs, where benches and appliances are just at the right height and bathroom amenities are designed with their needs and abilities in mind.
